How to get free [ Text to Speech. ]

Yet another reason to use Chrome.

Now, this is a kicker, but you don’t even need to spend anything to get that browser to read your text to you either. Because Google’s browser has it all built in, (well it’s sort of built in.)

The Google Chrome extension that you’re after is called Speak-it. It’s also a breeze to set up and run, with the config screen shown below demonstrating the options and voice settings, btw: it’s not the tinny system voice but another one with more clarity: did I mention, that it’s free?

This old woman could write a long and highly entertaining rambling tutorial on how to do it, but I won’t: instead I’ll simply point you to a u-Tube link on, how to get free voices in Chrome. The guy on the vid explains it so easily, and in such great detail; that even a dummy like myself could (eventually), understand it.
